[Earth] Uprising in Shaanxi ousts SATAE from province

A combination of armed uprising, civil disobedience and outright mutiny has sent SATAE's troops out of Shaanxi province in China.

Coming after months of peaceful protests, the uprising was sparked off after news of shootout between SATAE occupation forces and illegal militias in Kansas, UNAS reached the conspiring parties. First civilians refused to service Systems Alliance personnel in the local businesses, arranged sit-ins and protests at local administration facilities.

When SATAE began to arrest worst offenders, the armed rebels took to action assisted by few Chinese personnel within the occupiers' ranks. Arsenals were seized and local Systems Alliance leadership was placed under arrest, with their lives threatened in case any NCO or CO attempting rescue operations.

The coup saw only little fighting between the SATAE and rebel forces, ending in the former's defeat and retreat from Shaanxi province. The area is historically significant for being the cradle of Chinese civilization from ancient times and holdout for the Chinese Communist Party, founders of the People's Federation that fell during Reaper Wars.

Rebels in charge of Shaanxi have not issued any statements over what they plan to do now, but SATAE Administrator for China Cho Qun knows what she will. "The rebels of Shaanxi only hurt themselves with this childish behaviour. They believe they can manage without SATAE's help in reconstructing. Let us see how long they can go content without food or concrete brought to them by our administration's efforts."

The Systems Alliance is now arresting political dissidents for the crime of peaceful protest.

It could be that, or it could be possibly anti-SATAE newspaper opting to not describe what exactly the offenders were guilty of. It could be vandals and looters making use of the opportunity being called part of the demonstration. It could be anything really! We're only getting China Today's view on this.

Worst offenders isn't defined. It may be that the so-called "worst offenders" were less than peaceful. The journalist writing the article clearly has an anti-SATAE bias.

Shaanxi, part of asia, means "West of Shan." You're thinking either "Shanxi," another part of Asia meaning "Mountain's West," or the planet near the Shanxi-Theta relay.

This drives home my argument for the Citadel needing its own, independent defense force. Now we have armed uprisings on Earth- the human homeworld mind you -with the Alliance struggling to maintain stability there and even experiencing mutinies in its ranks. Who knows what things could end up as in the coming years? And we're in the veritable backyard to all of this! We need to be prepared for any contingency.

It doesn't even make any sense, this. China is getting the largest amount of assistance of any individual country and we've got two whole swathes of it back to pre-war conditions. My CO comes from one of those regions and is honestly very happy with SATAE, because it means she doesn't have to worry about her family. Her brother is on Earth, quite literally rebuilding his country and getting respect and pride from that.

And honestly, we're willing to help rebuild the communist government in China.

I'd like to remind people that the Chinese are a majority in the Alliance.
