While many have different opinions about the Cerberus Daily News TV Tropes page one thing is for sure it does nobody any good that it has been vandalized. In this case the links have been randomized or something.

So if you have a bit of time, and have some time, why not jump in take a page and restore it from history, it is a bit of work but with a bit of copy pasting and double checking you can get a page done in rather quickly. Myself I restored the character pages (C-Space and Terminus) and the Funny subsections.

If nothing else they provide some easy to access reference to the site history.

Vigilance Ever vigilant, for they are watching.
I'm on TVtropes, I'll check it out.
Which bit was vandalised?

EDIT: I see now. Lots of link changes... I can't seem to find the 'revert' button, but I'll try and see what I can do. :)

C-Sec mail [here], personal [here], FEMES [here]. Is that all? Can I go?

WavesHaveBroken This one is unsure what to place here. Greetings!
You restored the character pages, Dippy? I'm relieved to hear that. I had noticed that they'd been deleted, but I didn't know why - I thought maybe they'd been cut because they were too large or something. I was going to bring it up, but you've beaten me to it.

Since I'm fond of TV Tropes as a diversion, I've been trying to update the CDN page whenever I find the time.

Ichabod
Looks like most of the damage has been fixed, but I might as well take the opportunity to restate some things I've already said in chat proper.

First of all, if you're going to make any changes to the tvtropes page, let us (or someone) know in advance. It doesn't even have to be anything big - send us a PM saying 'hey, I'm going to do some cleaning up on the tvtropes page' or something. Keep it simple, especially if you're editing any entry other than your own characters (and if you are, ask the character for permission for editing that entry as well). We just want to make sure there's a record of when changes are going on so we don't flip out when some unknown-to-us user accesses it and switches stuff around. Not trying to order you folks around, just making it easier for us.

Secondly, if you've got an issue with CDN or a user, don't take it out on the tropes page, or the wiki, or any of the satellite sites associated with CDN. Those sites are mainly run by board users; people put real time into building those things up. When you vandalize that, you're undoing a lot of hard work and creativity. Seriously, have it out with the mods or the user themselves, send us a nasty pm, type up a twenty-page screed about how you've been unrightfully banned and host it on a private site like a paranoiac, but don't hurt the stuff other people have actually created. That's not just pathetic, it's destructive.

Thirdly, if any future vandalization occurs and you're silly enough to get caught, there will be reprecussions - instant ban being the least of them. We're all adults here, and while tempers can heat up, there is no excuse for going into one of our sister sites and just deleting or altering swathes of information. I don't care what the reasoning behind it is, or what you've been going through, or who's doing what, or how deep and crazy the argument is - if you get caught, you will get banned. Period.

That said, we're still trying to grow the site, so if you can spend some time to rebuild the tvtropes page - or, if you'd like, add some new stuff to it - I'd personally be thrilled. Especially since I can't edit pages there anymore since I tried to delete the entire archive a year or so ago when we tried to pull away from tvtropes.

Yeah. That didn't end well.

Anyways, if you have questions, the mods are always around. In the meantime, happy posting/troping/whatevering!

BOSS who cares
Just an FYI, a few of the 'crowner' pages are also still vandalized. Since I have no idea what I'm doing (because there is no revert button :|) it'd be nice if someone could check them out and fix them.

Read the instruction below first otherwise you might do something wrong and waste your time.

In short, go to a vandalized page, click history, make sure noone else has already fixed the page, you never know.
1) scroll down to the earliest edit of Rxg (our vandal,)
2) Select everything that's in the box with a yellow line to the side, and copy/paste it in notepad/textedit whatever. NEVER copy the copy from the box with the green line besides it, that's the bad stuff.
3) Work your way up to the last edit of Rxg. Copying the any content of boxes with a yellow line to your notpad, (pasting it in below anything you have.)
4) Your notepad/textedit/word should therefore be formatted like this;

<oldest edit>
<second-oldest edit>
<third-oldest edit>
...
<newest edit>

5) Now go to the article itself, and click on source, copy that source to a new notepad/editor whatever. Now comes the most labor intensive part. Copy the old stuff to the completed article. Just copy the paragraphs in their totality, that is less error prone. Always favor the oldest version, that's why you want to order it as above, for each entry you just search the first entry and you're assured it is the oldest edit.

6) Once you're done, you can click 'edit' for the page, and copy paste the finished article back to wiki. It shouldn't take more a hour.

I got rid of the first two links on the Crowning Moment of Awesome page- one where you guys fought off a Mary Sue, and something that resulted in the whole frickin' forum being made. If anyone can find those links, you can send them to me and I'll slip them back in.

Well, I'd like to put them there, the second primarily since it's what started CDN in the first place.

It's only if anyone finds them- I don't wanna force anyone to do something they don't wanna.
