Gamlitz "Gambit" Vayzerren didn't know what to think. Many people couldn't tell him how badly his hometown of Hardora was affected by the war. He was pulling embassy duty on Earth when the war began, and spent most of it with a group of human biotics, just skirmishing across the concrete jungle of Washington D.C.
He always told the friends he made on Earth during the time of war that he was going to go home one day, as soon as he could face his awful upbringing and come to terms that the city he ran around as a child was wiped clean. But these past few weeks, Hardora has been on his mind. He was absolutely driving himself insane with the things his minds eye was seeing. He hadn't been in contact with his family for years before the war, Only spirits know what had come of them. Here he was, on a GTG shuttle transport from the Slafcron station to Hardora Today was the day, Yesterday he had been cleared for leave from Embassy duty for a week. He was to report back the very next Monday at 0630. listen to myself Gambit thought, I'm starting to forget how Turians manage time. Gambit had asked 3 of his surviving human war buddies if they wanted to tag along on his journey to Palaven. He only got a response from one, Gambit figured the other 2 were either dead somewhere or were trying their best to forget, so he left it at that. The one that responded, Alan Stramboski, Simply Boski to Gambit, was Gambit's closest war buddy. "Gambit, are you alright?" Boski snapped Gambit out of his trance. "Uh, yeah sorry, I was just thinking" Boski frowned, "I know how you feel, It seems like all everybody does these days is think" Boski had a noticeable accent, Gambit didn't know enough about human accents, But he guessed it was probably Russian or Polish. They both felt the shudder of the shuttle as it made impact with the ground. "Here goes nothing, as a human would say" Gambit managed to choke out. Boski only nodded and stepped back as the shuttle doors opened. The station at Hardora seemed abandoned. No patron came running to aid them off, Nobody was sitting in the bay waiting chairs, the walls of the station were even filled with holes and had large chunks missing. "Hello?" Gambit eagerly belted out. No answer. Gambit stepped out, Boski reluctantly followed. Tarnim, The Turian shuttle driver stepped out behind them both "Spirits, This place is empty" he muttered. Gambit made a beeline for the entrance hall, He had heard his province was hit the hardest, and Hardora was smack dab in the middle of it. His pace quickened, leaving the 5 foot 7 Boski stretching his legs to keep up, "Gambit slow the hell dow-" Emptiness, Boski had ran into a stone Gambit. As Boski looked up he saw the station looked like a Reaper took a butcher knife and hacked off the other side. Into the distance, They both saw nothing but ruin. Nothing but scattered armor, shuttle scrap metal, broken buildings and Craters.

My plans for Hardora are for it to be in complete lawlessness. No government whatsoever had come to the aid of it due to its remote location on an already remote province of Palaven. Bandits, small bands of soldiers, whatever. Anybody is free to continue the story.

Arus had been on the same shuttle, sleeping through the trip. There had been another female turian who had hurried off the other direction when they had eventually landed, totally unrelated.
The fleet engineer did try to remember why had had wanted to come here of all places. He had to be back to the Citadel in a week’s time to leave with his ship for deep space exploration tour. Was is the long time he was about to spend in space that made him want to see the land of his father again? The wasteland? Yeah, you had a hard time feeling homesick for this sight, pal. There was another turian and a human… what by all the spirits was a human doing here of all places on Palaven? The turian was clad in cabal colors. Arus frowned, as most fleet guys he was a bit suspicious about their biotics. You just never saw them around, they were always keeping to themselves detached to special ops and stuff. Well at least he never met them in his engine rooms on a regular basis. Nonetheless he stepped beisde the odd couple. “Welcome to Plaven. Isn’t she a sight to behold.” He cracked a nut with his teeth, it calmed his nerves.

Hello:)
I have this turian guy I never use much. He’s not very detailed yet but I’ll offer to have a bit of conversation or something. An open thread is a cool idea but the problem why nobody is joining is, none of the current characters is permanently stationed on Palaven, the setting does not fit for many to join. Please don’t take this as an offense or let it discourage you, in fact the community is quite cool and I’m happy you came here! But getting started in real RPs can be a bit of a tricky thing. It can't be rushed and may need a bit patience to make it click. It usually takes a bit of time to establish a feel for who’s who and where action is going on. I can only recommend you drop by the irc chat some time, everyone is nice and will try to help you:) Most of the characters hang out on or around the Citadel at the moment, either permanently or at least from time to time. Some are on Omega, some on Illium. The best chances for an open thread to be joined may be on the Citadel. Also, I am no turian expert, there are people much more into hierarchy details but I would think vast destruction is okay for Palaven but be careful with large masses of marauding vagrants, I’m not sure how big of a thing they would be. Most likely some criminal elements exist everywhere in destruction areas but not in a, say, total Tuchanka style. Others in irc could probably help you define it. So, long story short, get engaged on IC boards, make your character known, get a feeling for other characters, adjust things. And do drop by the irc. In the meantime, I am happy to offer a bit of RP here:) |
