Okay, so I get that the geth are a consensus, a fancy name for hivemind and you've already shown that you were capable of splitting up with the portion of geth that allied with the Reapers.
So the question here is do the geth have politics like we do? Are there factions among the geth? Would another split in the consensus be possible? On the Move. |

Yes, there are different factions within the Consensus.
A split is possible, but likelihood of one is little at the moment. |

A Consensus oriented format re: group based decision making methodology predicated upon existence of multiple points of argumentative view. Multiple programs capable of sharing analogous points of argumentative view. Nature of social mechanism encourages said programs to align into distinct factionalities. Effect further compounded by multiple subsets/supersets within geth strata [ie. military oriented; industrial oriented; information-acquisition oriented; technological oriented; etc] plus existence of regional/issue based subconsensuses.
Criterion for implementation of given decision flexible/dependent upon situational context. Achievement re: plurality; gross majority; unanimity possible parameters. Once decision is reached said decision is unilaterally executed by attendant programs. Progression of observed/argumentative differences between given factionalities to greater super-set encompassing schism on order of sociological shift: Old Machine Heresy is of probability greater than zero. Micro-scale schisming between established subconsensuses/super-sets [ie. military oriented versus diplomatic] extant. |

This one is suddenly put in mind of its own people. It had not considered the comparison in the manner that it is now reflecting on. It should consult its learned betters about the matter! "I was blind, and I cannot say I had eyes to see the truth. I was a fool, and I cannot say I had sense to know the truth. I was lost, and I cannot say I could have found the truth. In the darkness, truth found me." |

This one is intrigued by the schism the geth have and the choice of words the geth use to describe it. Does this mean that the geth have some adopted some form of religious doctrine?

So what factions are there? What are they called? Who hates who? Who likes who?
On the Move. |
