Something was up with Kayana. She always had a lot of energy to burn, but now she'd come to the range to shoot during school hours, a sweatshirt pulled over her sparring clothes. She went still when she aimed her gun (trying out a variety of different models) but basically vibrated when she lowered them.
She'd already sent the message to Raelon, of course. |

Howdy from your favourite cybermancer druid 3;} There's about to be a "time out for maintenance" on the left side cameras. Should I send Trex out, or do you want to come in? Third door on the left--auxiliary armoury.
There's a strange mood running through the range. Tango's limping around on a crutch that seems far too thin to support his not inconsiderable bulk, and Breaker's in a black mood, hissing at everyone and sharpening a machete on a whetstone in the corner. Things seem tense, in a way they haven't since the Reaper War. |

Quatra? Was C-Sec or another group cracking down on Vindi's little self-governance project? There was no polite way to ask, especially since she'd blathered her opinions all over earlier. Too much I told you so.
I'll come up. Track how long it takes me.
She moved quickly. There was a trick to it-a certain pace that said that she was supposed to be there. As she slipped back into it, the tension became more and more apparent. It did feel like the war. |

The auxiliary armoury. When the regular armoury was the go-to site for clandestine meetings, it paid to have a backup. Trex sits on a box of ammunition, swinging her feet, wishing there was something--anything--interesting to look at in here other than dusty crates and half-assembled weaponry and a tarp covering the artillery cannon that Vindi no longer has. "Has," by legal definition, meaning a cannon in working order.
It would take at least five minutes to get that thing back in working order. Therefore, Vindi does not possess an operational cannon. To kill time, she types in a thank you message to Raelon. Funny how not that long ago she was mad at him for getting her grounded the first time. He kind of had a point, though....this is the Citadel, and things are done differently here. She's just tired of constant punishment when she doesn't adapt fast enough. She looks up hopefully when the door opens. |

Kayana slipped in, opening her inner eyelids to adapt to the dark faster. "Hey, Pointy Person."
"That..." She jerked her thumb over her shoulder. "Not a happy range. How are you holding up?" |
