Not exactly the first place you'd think a thief would go hide. But then again he wasn't looking for a thief, just the driver from what he understood. No way was he gonna take on a gang of smugglers, not with the risks that involved and his suit. But the driver, he was a loose end. Why they let him go, who knows. Maybe they figured no one would be able to track him down. That Titan would just... forget about five canisters of Eezo that was supposed to go to their HQ on the Citadel.
Yeah, and Sandy was both clean and straight as an arrow. It wasn't hard getting the security footage. What was hard figuring out who the driver was. Security facial recognition wasn't precise when you had a partial face match agaisnt a door. Plus you needed some kind of record to even hope of finding the guy. But after two days of surfing files, hopefully the copes wouldn't mind him just taking a peek into their records via wireless hack, he got a hit. Travis Galeb, petty thief, just some bosh'tet trying to get back on his feet in the wake of an apocalypse and he ended up taking a job from the wrong crowd. Poor, dumb Travis. In a way Vik sympathized for the poor human, it wasn't his place to judge but he had helped take something he shouldn't have. So he needed to correct that. Besides, he still owed Titan. It wasn't easy trying to keep a cover as a quarian, but Vik needed the practice anyway. Especially if this panned out. He knew Travis' routine by now, scouted him out for at least two days already. He wasn't with his one time colleagues, probably just happy he got away with his cash and they left him alone. With any luck he didn't see the quarian with the muddled orange hood and darkish red suit with yellow tint. Or that the Quarian had a concealed pistol, which he made sure he registered so some dead beat cop didn't think otherwise. It wasn't for Travis, Vik could handle him, but he didn't go anywhere without a gun anymore. For now he waited at the small out of the way dinner just across the street from Travis' apartment. He came in here everyday, picked up his morning coffee, maybe one those muffing things humans loved so much, and left. Vik just asked for a glass of water. He wasn't drinking it, it was just to keep the owners from throwing him out for not buying anything. He passed the time by looking up things on the extranet from his Omni-Tool. Maybe if all went well he'd download a vid tonight, celebrate. For now, he waited and just hoped no one would interfere when the time came. Titan wanted their stuff back, he'd get their stuff back.

Hey! I'm back guys! Not sure if you're happy to see me or not, but it's cool. I'm just happy to see CDN is still running. Double Dumbass on me, I didn't realise the whole site was moving I just thought we were updating the old one. My mistake. Anyway I'm here now and ready for some adventures. Also, can anyone tell me how the Avatar system works? Mine seems broken.

Perhaps he should've delayed coming here so early, at least until half an hour before he would supposedly show up. But Vik didn't want to risk Travis going to the diner early. And unfortunately that made the owner a bit suspicious. The manager came over to his table and looked at the glass on undrunk water.
"Look buddy if you're not gonna drink it order something or leave." he told him "You have plenty of other tables and if someone wants to sit here they're welcome to it." Vik promised "I won't be here much longer." "If it's because you're Quarian I'm sure I can get something you can actually eat." The manager explained "Ever since the Citadel has been moved over earth we've been stockpiling alien food just incase." Nice of him, and progressive, but he didn't have time to congratulate the man on his efforts. "You'd have to have something in a paste I can't take off the helmet." Vik explained "I can check, I'm sure we got something back there." the manager assured "If you do I'll pay for it." Vik promised The human left, Vik was just happy that he wouldn't have to worry about him getting his cover blown. He didn't want to risk getting attention drawn to himself. Not when Travis was due to show up at any minute. Once he did he'd wrap this up quickly with any luck. |

Travis arrived a little later than usual. He was slightly unhinged, maybe he suspected something. But when the human asked for his usual to go, Vik knew it was now or never.
Travis left through the back door, Vik paid his bill with a quick credit transfer to the diner's account and followed. He was right behind him for a few meters before the man ducked into an alley. Yeah, he suspected something. Vik got a good look down the alley and saw the man picking up speed. Vik ran after him and Travis dodged into a connecting alleyway, tipping over some assorted junk to block his path. Vik was prepared for a long drawn out chase... but Travis wasn't exactly athletic. When he turned the corner he found the human desperately trying to climb a pipe up to a rooftop. Vik just pulled him down by the collar of his shirt. "Don't friggin kill me!" he shouted to Vik's surprise "I haven't talked to anyone! I swear just don't kill me!" He thought he was working for his former partners, that's why he got spooked. "I'm not with them Travis I'm with the people you stole from."[color=#00BF80] he explained to the human [color=#00BF80]"And I wanna know where you took the Eezo." Travis looked honestly surprised, although somewhat relaxed now and more confident. He thought he knew what Titan was, that he could handle them. He wasn't privy to all the information. "Oh no, I'm not gonna rat." he said "They find out I'm dead." Vik sighed and pulled out his pistol. "Dead is dead, what's it matter if it's someone different?" Vik responded "If I don't do it they will. I'll at least make it clean unless you tell." Travis was thinking it over really quick, Vik could tell. Eventually he figured out what was in his best interests. "Look, the people I robbed, they're gonna like... kill them huh?" he asked "When they find them I mean." "Not up to me, but most likely." Vik admitted "Fine, they're stationed out near an old dock-works in Baltimore." he explained "I'm not sure if they've already sold the goods, but-" Vik put the gun away and leaned down to Travis' eye level. "You warn them, I'll know." Vik promised "And they'll send someone worse than me." Probably Velte, if she was still working, or Titus, maybe Kate, hell could even be a new guy. Who knew? Travis wouldn't want to know that's for sure. He wasn't gonna talk though, not after what Vik smelled off him. He wasn't cut out for this, poor human in over his head is all. "I'll shut up, gonna disappear anyway." he promised "Got me a ticket to the west coast, safer." Vik began to walk away, leaving Travis in the alley to stew in his own bodily fluids. Some days he was glad his suit took care of that for him. Now he just had to talk to Sandy, and with any luck he'd be off this planet soon as well. |
