Silence from Solregit

Hierarchy officials are expressing concern over continued silence from the turian colony of Solregit. This small colony at the edge of turian space is known to most of the Hierarchy for two things: a substantial agricultural yield and ongoing struggles with local separatist elements. With the devastation on Palaven and the larger colony worlds, production of dextro-based food has become more important than ever; yet attempts to contact Solregit via QEC have to date gone unanswered.

Some analysts theorize that Primarch Antarres may have borrowed a page from the uncompromising separatist mindset and followed the example of Macedyn, choosing the willful destruction of the planet and its people over Reaper domination. Others, however, point out Solregit’s separatist doctrine.

“[Solregit separatists] believe the planet itself is sacred,” explains Hierarchy sociologist Hvion Svalbeid. “They would prefer their own deaths to its destruction.”

Hierarchy officials have denied rumors of a colonial overthrow and subsequent declaration of independence in the wake of the Reaper War. With no word from Solregit, however, the Hierarchy may only speculate on its former colony’s fate.

Spirits, I hope this wasn't another Macedyn. That was one of the few things after the first days of the war that truly disturbed me.

I sincerely share nq's concerns over this.

It's not like Solregit was a tech centre. How many QEC units did they even have? I mean, "We're fine, but the QEC builidng got hit by a bomb" is also an option, right?

I'm not very sympathetic to the Sundowners, but I it's not like I want their planet to be blown up.

WavesHaveBroken This one is unsure what to place here. Greetings!
This one hopes that the explanation will be other than mass destruction. While this one would be saddened to find that some communities had no interest in resuming interaction with the wider galaxy, it would be the lesser evil. Too many voices have been darkened already. This one hopes the Hierarchy can bring us news soon!

Did you ever think about installing a language lesson on CDN? Maybe in combination with the one-liner thread. There seem to be a few interesting catch phrases.

Anyway, I am bit concerned that the article did not state if there will be an FTL recon. I mean, they basically have to check that. Or the authorities already know more than they tell the press.

They should charter someone to swing by with a scout ship, seriously. I mean, it's better then waiting indefinitely, and if it's a long-range scout it can be outfitted with a QEC and the mission can be called off should the relay open back up.

The relays leading to the cluster that contain Solregit still need to be rebuild. Any scouting mission would become a monumental expedition as long as those relays are down.

On the long road home tonight
Goes to show how much of a priority we are.

But I've a rendezvous with Death
At midnight in some flaming town,
When Spring trips north again this year,
And I to my pledged word am true,
I shall not fail that rendezvous.

There's not much we can do with a broken relay regrettably.

Precisely. No offence, Sicaria, but there's only so many relays the galaxy can put back together at once, even with the 'outside help', and it hasn't been easy just getting the homeworld ones running again. And it's probably going to be quicker waiting on the relay to be fixed than it would be waiting for a slow-burning ship, really.

I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have rebuilt Jerusalem,
In Earth's green & pleasant lands.

I don't know, I don't think I am that good of a teacher, would you be interested?

Hate to break it to you champ, but until or unless that relay's fixed or the QEC magically starts running again, there's about piss-all anyone can do about it.
