An update on my life (since you all care so much).

Yeah.

Not really sure why I'm posting this, as the majority of you don't really know me or care about my life. I guess I just need a place to vent, or just work something out "out loud" as it were. Anyways, the update.


As some of you know, I got an update a few weeks ago about my friend, Joe. He had survived the war and was in a hospital on Earth. I immediately arranged to go down and see him and talk with the doctors, since "we had some matters to discuss" as they put it. So, I got to Earth and things turned out to be more complicated than I was expecting.

Long story short, Joe suffered some pretty bad brain trauma during the war (he was actually in a coma until a few months ago) and, though the doctors have repaired all that they could, Joe is... Well, not Joe. He can preform all of life's basic functions but it's almost like there isn't anyone there. When he speaks at all it is only when spoken to, and even then only in the simplest replies and just kind of spends the vast majority of of his days just doing nothing. The doctors said that in addition to the brain trauma, some of this is likely psychological, and that Joe may never come out of this state.

Anyways, all of Joe's family died during the war, so I was able to arrange to take move him to the Citadel (Yeah, depleted medical resources and a war that eliminated many people's family does wonders for the whole "needing power of attorney" thing). He is living with me and a live in nurse. Doctors are hoping that being around a familiar environment might help him, but so far it's no dice.

That whole thing lead to me going back to work as a Galaxy of Fantasy moderator as well as some small time programming jobs, so as to be able to spend most of my time at home and pull in a livable income for us.

Honestly, I'm exhausted enough at the moment to not really feel anything about this whole devolpment, which is a bit of a relief. Though, on the upside, I will be releasing a new game soon on ClockworkFrog Games (Thanks to VigilantVanguard for that!)

Yeah...so, that's my life. Again, not really sure why I'm even posting this. But there you have it.

I hope Joe recovers, Jeral. But he's probably getting the best moral support he can with you!

So sorry to hear about Joe. We'll offer prayers for his recovery, if it's to be; it's good, at least, to know he's being well cared for. And it's pleasing to know there's a new CWF game on the way - for its own sake (you make good games, as I'm sure you get told a lot), and to know you're finding time for the things you enjoy. :)

(Speaking of GoF, also, Apricity's licensed a site multi-user client - hopefully we'll all behave when we're gallivanting around as our fantasy-warrior counterparts and won't need moderators reining us in, but maybe we'll see you around the game now and then.)
