I am in full support of this.

While restocking military supplies with the surpluses is a good way to save money, I don't see why we should be trying to rebuild the CDF. C-Sec is still hurting plenty, and that should be our real priority. I know that they're technically part of the CDF, but since people have been slowly going back to their lives since the relays reopened, it's not going to stick around, and we'll still have the Citadel Fleet afterward.

So why not put the gear funding towards C-Sec?

Also, real nice, trying to use scare tactics like that. You know what's stopping Terminus pirates? The Citadel Fleet. And the Alliance. And C-Sec. And...

This is why I still don't get this obsession with democracy.

I for one am glad that someone's taking our defence seriously. I mean, the Citadel basically fell twice in one year, didn't it? And with all the destruction, the rising crime rate...it really doesn't feel safe here anymore.

Too bad that rising crime rate has nothing to do with the obligations that the CDF has to the station.

And I seriously doubt no amount of little guns you're going to buy would mean anything. Not if they were anything like the last two invasions and especially if there's not enough bodies to hold those guns in the first place. Fucking priorities.

Not directly. But this upswing in crime wouldn't be happening if people felt more secure, you know? If they know they're protected, if they see that the Citadel is organized to professional standards, they'll be less likely to feel desperate. And less likely to risk causing trouble. It's the general, er, Zeitgeist (I think that's the word), that contributes to all this chaos we're having.

You realize that this upswing in crime has absolutely fuck all to do with how secure the people feel. No one steals or kills or robs just because they don't think the local militia doesn't have enough guns. You're basically telling me that you don't want your taxes going towards security, you want to pay for the illusion of it. That's not just some vibe I get from you, that's exactly what you're clamouring for. Just because you don't feel safe about walking the Wards.

The invasion already happened. We're dealing with the biggest organized crime problem we've had since the first Battle of the Citadel, and this asshole wants more guns circulating on the Citadel.

It's a fucking disaster in progress.

All those guns... its all fun, games and posing until somebody uses one for a divorce, or acts out a serious grudge on a public plaza.
Is it just me or that guy really likes his guns? I mean, really a lot? He's fondling the thing.


I never got it how the Citadel turned into such a shit-hole really. Passed by for deployment during the war, got no wish to ever go back.

Aside from the fact that I'm unsure by what metric you've decided that the Citadel is a 'shithole', if you can't understand why it's facing some of the problems it's facing, maybe you've failed to realize that there are certain implications in a vast refugee population moving in with no means or desire to leave.

Admittedly, there aren't many less conspicuous ways to go about building your own personal army, so I suppose the assemblyman deserves some credit for managing to mask it so successfully under the guise of populism. You just know there are going to be enough idiots (most probably turian) who'll buy it- hook, line, sinker!

You know I was just thinking about going on a vacation to the Citadel. It looked like fun. I could take a tour of the presidium, go clubbing, then break into an unsecured apartment and savagely gun down a random family whilst rooting through their valuables; all in one glorious day. Oh well. Looks like CDF is going to be armed and ready to stop me.
