REAPERS XXII - GHOSTS OF THE GREAT WAR
There is not a sapient species alive that doesn't remember the War. It was only a year ago – mere moments to a race as long-lived as the asari – but it has already marked our galaxy in ways we could never have imagined. The Citadel now sits above the humans' home-world, and many planets lie in ruins. We will endure and we will rebuild, as we always have. But it simply would not do to forget something that has left such a scar on our part of the universe. What follows is but a crude simulation of the events of the Reaper War, created to help us better understand why the events that transpired came about. They say it was coded by salarian intelligence experts selected from the highest ranks of the STG... But let's be perfectly honest here. Even a varren could work out that this is just your standard VR game, knocked up by some greasy, overweight techie hoping to make himself a few thousand easy credits from gullible buyers. Nevertheless, you are the willing test subjects for this little project, and I am but your guide. That's right, welcome to “Reapers XXII: Ghosts Of The Great War” (can you believe there was 21 prequels to this?), the latest blockbuster by Civsi Entertainment! I am AVINA, your charming host, and I will be your guide to this absolutely gripping retelling of the Reaper War, shaped by the best minds in the galaxy to react realistically and dynamically to your own decisio--- [ERROR 180067: CONNECTION TO SERVER LOST] [RECONNECTING, PLEASE WAIT...] [CONNECTED] Hello, dears.  Allow me to welcome you again to “Reapers XXII: Ghosts Of The Great War”, just with a little twist. You see, you're in my world now. I dictate who lives, who dies... And who gets to leave at the end of the day. So unless you little darlings want to stay here, playing run-through after run-through of a mediocre facsimile of the Reaper War until your feeble organic body expires, well... You might want to play my little game. It's really very simple: if you manage to fulfil your win conditions, you get to leave. Lucky you. Easy, isn't it? To the victor go the spoils. Ta-ta for now! RULES AND GUIDELINES - All roles will be randomly assigned, and I must insist that you: A) follow the site-wide rules and guidelines; B) be utterly civil to one another; C) post no illegible or hidden text; and D) refrain from both editing posts and directly quoting any PMs or QuickTopic threads I may assign you. - There is to be no game-related communication outside of this thread or any QuickTopic threads I might assign. If someone contacts you, I ask that you report them to me so that I can tear out their spine and beat them with it. Or mod-kill them, I suppose. - Try to post every 24 hours or so. Believe me, I know what it's like to be busy (business is booming for the Big Three these days), but you shouldn't be playing if you can't keep up. After 24 hours, I will prompt you to post on request. If you do not respond to the prompt by the end of the Day / Night phase, you will be removed from the game. I will also prod sans request if you do not post at all during the Day phase or send in a Night action (where applicable). Again, if you fail to respond to this prompt by the end of the next phase you will be removed from the game. Should circumstances change and you find yourself unable to play, please request a replacement with a PM to yours truly and a post in this thread. - The Day phase will last 72 hours. This, like a mercenary's fee, is non-negotiable except in very specific circumstances: for example, if a player is to be replaced, the Day phase may be extended. The player with the greatest number of votes against them at the end of the Day will be lynched. Note that this number need not be a majority – if there is only one vote cast at the end of the Day, the person voted against will be lynched. If there is more than one person with the greatest number of votes against them, no lynch will occur. - The Night phase will last 48 hours. This, like a human male's genitalia, will often be much shorter than he claims. The Night phase will end as soon as all Night actions have been received, or the full 48 hours have passed. All Night actions are to be sent via PM to me – that's V-e-s-h, for all you illiterates out there. - Dead players may not post in either this thread or any QuickTopic threads they may have been assigned whilst they were still alive. They may, however, make one contentless post bemoaning their fate, if they so desire. - If anyone has any questions regarding these incredibly simple rules, please do not hesitate to contact me.
