Dilinaga Concert Hall Holds Grand Re-Re-Opening Celebration

In a surprise press conference yesterday, the owner of the Dilinaga Concert Hall announced that they would be holding a celebratory event in two weeks. After four years of continuous reconstruction, along with a re-opening just months before the Reaper war, the structure is now finally rebuilt and capable of hosting new events. In celebration of this, the Hall has gathered a wide array of talent to perform on opening night, from renowned Opera singer Mellana M’tanis to the London Philharmonic Orchestra and even stage actress Silahra Ib’nek, who hasn’t performed in Citadel Space since 2170.

Not everyone is happy with the lavish plans in place, however. “It’s taking away from what’s really important,” says Elin Nador, a reconstruction volunteer, “People here on the ward couldn’t care less about some music hall. They want their homes back, and all of the time and effort is getting directed towards these pointless ‘cultural centers’ the Presidium officials like so much.”

District representative Elgus Maccin dismisses the idea that reconstruction priorities are harming residents. “The fact that it’s a cultural icon is the very reason that we need to rebuild it. When people these days think of Tayseri, they think of wreckage and squalor. Rebuilding the symbols of our ward will show that we’re back on the rise, and more importantly, draw investors back to our Ward.”

Tickets to the event will be 50 credits per person, and can be pre-ordered at the Hall’s site, Dilinaga-Hall.cit. The event is expected to sell out quickly, so those planning to go are advised to pre-order as soon as possible.

In my opinion, it's a good thing stuff like this is reopening. I know this guy is upset about taking the focus off rebuilding, but I see it more as taking the focus off the reasons we need rebuilding, if you get what I mean.

Excellent news. I remember seeing an excellent production of "The Twilight Mystery" during my stay on the Citadel. May have to see about popping over to see this.

I actually had the privilege to see Silarha perform on stage several years ago. My unit had recieved a week's R&R, and Zea'ka had managed to scrounge a few tickets.

I actually was not aware she was still active, much less alive until now, this is good news.

Some people really do not understand how important cultural preservation is for keeping things together. Of course it has to be a balance but this a somthing valuable that defines us as the species that we are.
I just visited the Matriarch Strata Classical Theater on Illium, they are also n their first season after reopening and it was an unforgettable event.

The Citadel is definitely on my to visit list... it has been too long.

This is quite ... exciting news. I wish I had the ... funds to afford a ticket. Locations such as this will hopefully ... stimulate the local economy by bringing in visitors, allowing more homes to be ... rebuilt.

Well how about that. Let's hope we don't have a Grand Re-Re-Re-Opening anytime soon. At least not due to another invasion by hostile synthetics or human ultra-nationalists or what have you.

I'll go. It will be good see that part of Teyseri looking like normal again.

Frankly they got shafted on the rebuilding funds front the first time and I'm not about to judge them for having a little indulgence now.
