Who wants a free beta of Starbound? I bought a four-pack, and after my copy, and two giveaways, I still have one left. So you (yes, you!) now have a chance of getting it.
Entering is simple: PM Harrad_01 (not Weishaupt) with a new advertisement, or idea for one if you don't have the software to make it yourself. Don't post it here, because I like the ads being surprises when they get posted. Everyone with a valid entry (which is to say, something I'd be happy to post on the board here) will get one spot in a random draw. I'll be making the draw next week, on #CDN, and then that lucky player gets their copy. If you already have a copy of Starbound, you can still enter since all I'll be giving you is a link to the key, and that's something you can pass along to someone else. Any questions? Put them here! Any entries? PM them to Harrad_01. Entries here will probably still be used but you don't get the spot in the draw. |

Actually this seems a good place (sorry if it's been answered elsewhere already) - the ads in general, unrelated to the contest at hand, anyone can create one and send it in any time? And to the Harrad_01 address in that case, or elsewhere? (And are there any preferred image dimensions, or will anything banner-ish and not too wide do?)

Yes, anyone can send them in at any time. They're fun little bits of fluff, and I'm starting to run a bit low. It's not that we're in any danger of running out of ads, but while news stories are matter-of-fact, ads are best when they're just awkward enough in the context of the thread. So having a broad selection is best (right now I don't need any more fictional bands). Sending them to Weishaupt or Harrad_01 are best, since I'm running the Ad Server and managing the files in FTP. I would recommend checking the dimensions used in previous ads for a good idea of the dimensions used. File format isn't important, although (with the exception of animated banners) they should be of a reasonable file size. |
