This isn't at at related to a patient I have on the table or a not-quite legal operation I'm trying to perform, hypothetically.

Robotic turian prosthetic forearm and claw attached to a human elbow. Survivable? Yes? No?

if you have to ask as a doctor the answer is probably not

Typically survivable, unless you're the sort of inept backroom hack who needs to ask that sort of question on an extranet forum.

I mean... I wouldn't begin to suggest that the prosthetic is stock and thus callibrated to turian nervous inputs, or that you didn't bother with a human/turian nervous interop layer (either software or hardware) because surely you'd be stricken by a crisis of confidence if you didn't understand these most basic of steps.

Can you even tell the difference between a nerve cluster and a primary artery?

...On the TABLE?!?!

You give independent clinics a BAD NAME.

What's the programming on the prosthetic?

I mean, survivable, probably, but I don't know the biological differences between the species. Ordinary contact for a turian might translate as screaming pain for a human - or nothing. You need a tech to calibrate that prosthetic if you want any hope of it working as it's supposed to.

Listen here, Avulsion, I've seen your namby-pamby hot-shot surgical clinics here and there and I can't help but think you're cutting in on my business. Nobody cuts into my business! I'm the discount doctor on this station, not you, you sniveling wretch!

Oh, the patient made it, by the way.

He didn't take the prosthetic well. It turns out he's a human-supremacist. I didn't know that! Why is he gonna get on my case about that? I just saw a man with an arm that was torn off in an accident! I save him and gave him a new arm and all he does is bitch at me.

To be perfectly honest, I would pay money to see that. In fact, you should replace more of his parts with Turian prosthetics! It would be hilarious!

Or maybe not, because you know, that's violating almost every medicinal ethics guideline ever.

It's a freelance clinic on omega. There's no such thing as ethics. Or medical, for that matter.

Its really funny that you guys made fun of me for not wanting to go to a clinic on Omega when this shit happens. Some dumbass who flunked out of a crappy med-school will try to graft the wrong arm to your body and you'll wake up with five, fat useless fingers squiggling all over the place like... like worms.

Gross

(the answer to your question is a resounding FUCK NO btw)

Which is a bullshit excuse, if there were no ethics or basic medical competency then why go to them at all? Because they're cheap? A clinic with actual standards that's also cheap will get more than enough business regardless versus some back alley hack who'd need to run X-rays to figure out the difference between his dick and a bonesaw.

Also belatedly re: OP.

You are an absolutely shitty, shitty person, a terrible doctor, and I sincerely recommend that you find some kind of spiritual adviser and reevaluate your life.

Is it short term survivable? Probably. Long term? He's going to have some serious problems unless he sees someone who actually knows what he's doing who can replace it or recalibrate it to the point that he can actually operate it. It's not as simple as just slapping on a new prosthetic on a bleeding stump and calling it a day you shitlord. Unaligned neural nets. Incompatible actuators. Needlessly complicated retraining. To say nothing of the psychological aftermath of coping with something that wasn't even made for your body being grafted onto your joint.

When a patient, even a human supremacist, comes to your clinic and pays you to fix them that's what you do. You don't pull this utterly appalling bullshit and then go "bwut why is everyone being so meaaaan to me ::(".

Let's save you the trouble. It's because you're a terrible businessperson, a worse doctor, and an even worse excuse for sentient life.

Yeah but this guy might not take it as a joke and actually do it because ethics have never even occurred to him.
