New addition to town

Happened to be making a house call out west near Nos Astra Memorial station, and - in place of the sealed construction site that's been along the way the last few times I've gone by in recent months - look what's turned up:



That (the main building, and the two thin towers) is Nos Astra's first mosque, named Masjid... damnation I forgot the rest, I was talking to a temporary public info VI they've got in the square out front, but it's not linked into the city net yet. It translates to 'Mosque of the Northern Illumination', which is quite flattering to our little city. I imagine most humans will know more about this already than I do, but for the rest of you if you didn't already know, it's a place of worship for the human Islamic faith. Not sure if they have entry restrictions, if not I'll have to pay a visit some time, see what the inside looks like.

I know a few people who'd be interested to hear about this! Omega's got a pretty strong Islamic community especially in the Medrese District. The mosques here are all function over form though, that place look like both; it's beautiful. Is the Imam human, do you know?

Hm, this looks a bit like the 3rd abumble of vol, just the two towers are new. Interesting coincidence.
I've never been to a mosque myself but I've seen holos and heard stories of beautiful architecture. That's well fitting into the surroundings, I suppose the community will like it too.

S'funny, when I was doing UP in Mumbai, the Mussies and their mosques were our main parts of call. They were forever getting the shit kicked out of them; I don't think I ever saw a week go by without a firebombing. Things were much better before war, but old habits and that...

Hell, go back to my deda's deda's generation and putting up a mosque in our neighbourhood would've been like sticking your dick in an ant farm. And yet the pinks have got one standing bang in the middle of Illium. Maybe they're safer there.

How many people can it hold?

Questions like that are important to quarians.

At least this one has sexy blues surrounding it though. Rejoice!
