Denakot, Tayseri somewhere near a burger joint called the "Minefield" and an infamous shooting range/unofficial town hall.
Schmidt Solution was small shop that blended in with the other on that level, it wasn'T particular notable, but also not particular invisibale. Through windows people could view models of R-Series weapons and a poster showed prices of various sale offers. A large note said "All weapons on display are non-functional show models with accurate recoil simulation. Your purchases will be delivered to you via mailorder." A smaller note beneath said that the owner was looking for help. Jaquento was sitting behind a counter overlooking three aisles of racks with guns of various shapes and sizes, two shelves with omni-tools and several boxes with shovel ware like heat sinks, empty OCDs and similar accessories. Behind Jaquento a biometrical locked door that obviously leads to his storage and workroom. Currently the shop is empty aside from Jaquento and he himself was eagerly awaiting the candidate for the open position. |

Right on schedule, Sarah stepped towards the shop, adjusting the sleeves to her jacket. She checked a pocket mirror, running a hand through her hair to adjust a bang, and with a deep breath, she stepped into the store, all smiles. "Mr. Jaquento!" She waved, offering her right hand. "Pleasure to see you again. I'm here for the interview?" |

Jaquento looked up and hastily adjusted himself on his chair, why do people have the habit of coming in when he was about to slouch?
"Oh, uhm, yes, hello Miss uhm... " he looked into the resumee... "Miss Thompsom, pleased to meet you. Oh and it is Mr. Schmidt, but if we are going to work together Jaquento or Jaq will be sufficient." He stood up and gestured Sarah to follow. "Let us go somewhere more private." He opened the lock of the door that leads to the backrooms, what little there is. A small corridor that with a door to the left and one to the right. The left had writen "Storage" on it. Jaquento opened the right one. The room was dimlit and crammed, the desk had to double as a workbench and light of the magnifier lamp illuminated dozens off electronic small parts beloning to guns or omni-tools. A half-finished project on the desk was quickly set aside. The room itself reeked of omni-gel, machine oil and other industrial fluids. The only clean place was a small field kitchen with water foundtain and fridge that was so clean, that it stood out from stained shelves to the left and right. Apperently the owner made a point of keeping it that way. The can of hand washing paste looked heavily used though. Jaquento emptied a chair that has been misused to seat a box of tools on it and positioned it to one side of the desk/workbench. He sat down on the other side. "Surely you can see why I can't offer you a better pay than I did yesterday. Schmidt Solutions only sounds great. Well, have a seat. Can I offer you something? I have... water?" |

Sarah sat and locked her hands together, then waved a hand. "I'm good. You were curious about my credentials?" She ran through in her mind as to what to say- What COULD she say? "I have military history, I've been through multiple academies and can repair and maintain my own firearms." Her mind blanked, and she spoke with a slight monotone, as if reading from a mental note. It hit her that she'd not yet acclimated to civilian life- But this was a start. |

Jaquento nodded. "Yes, I got that from your resumee. So let me fill you in what your job entails here."
He readjusted himself on his chair to give him time to think about a description that would not alienate his employee in spe. "You see, I can't be around here all day and while the shop is my main scource of income, I also do custom mods for a clientele that uses firearms more frequently. These mods go for a premium and... well, I like the challenge. But, this store doesn't run itself and VIs lack the personal touch. So basicly, I expect you to man the desk and advise the custumers when I am not around that is. Your second task is to perform regular maintenance on the show models, cleaning, repairing broking ones, calibaring the working ones." He made a pause to give Thompson time to understand. "So, yeah it is pretty much an 'assistant' job. Of course usually I will be around here too, but working back here. Administartive stuff, the custom mods and so on. As for your payment and benefits, I give you the weekends + 23 workdays a year off. As I said yesterday, I can pay you minimum wage plus 20 percent plus a contribution to your health insurance, if you have one. I expect you to work 30 hours a week, but well, nothing is set in stone and if you give me notice we can work out adjustments." Jaquento also sounded like he had learned these lines by heart. In fact it sounded like he took it 1:1 from a 'How to do a job interview' vid with some minor adjustments. "So... any questions?" |

"Do I have to wear an outfit or assigned clothing? Do I have safety guidelines?" |

Jaquento gave the question some thought, he hadn't really thought about appearance before.
"It will inevitable that you will get dirty every now and then, so I suggest you wear something comfortable that you don't mind getting dirt on. And other than the clip-on ID card I'll provide you are free to wear whatever you want, but keep it in mind that this is mostly a sales job. As for security concerns... Well, in the storage there is a hardened cabinet with a strongly encrypted lock on it that contains actual guns. Keep your hands off it and nothing in this store can hurt you... well if the custumer doesn't decide to club you with a show model that is. Besides, I trust you that you know how to handle guns since you got license and experience so I'll spare you the lecture. If a custumer makes trouble, the counter has a hidden panic button that summons C-Sec and there is taser gun next to it. Out there in the corridor is an fire extinguisher and a first-aid kit." Jaquento activated his terminal shifted the image to give Thompson a better look. It showed three documents. "I need you to sign these. The first one is the working contract with the terms I mentioned. The second one is for my insurance to proove that I have told you anything you need to know. Read it carefully, if you notice something I left out tell me now. The thrid one is for you to fill out, banking and accounting stuff, health insurance so on. It will allow me to send payment to your account." |

The woman gave a nod and stood up, taking the papers. She scanned them for details, then signed them one by one, offering them over. "I'm a biotic. Funny business will get a throw field." She shot him a grin. "I won't let you down, sir. I'll start when you need me to."

"I see. Well then. You can start with next week, I'll mail you a schedule via e-mail and I'll see you then. If you run into any related issues, just send me a mail and we sort it out."
Jaquento stood up and offered Thompson his hand. "So, welcome to Schmidt Solutions." It was either a funny or just an embarrasing sight to see Jaquento trying to make an 'I'm a CEO' impression. |

Sarah took the man's hand and gave it a firm grip and shake. "Excellent, I'll see you next week." She gave him a slap on the arm and made her way out of the business. There was a prior engagement to begin soon on the Presidium, and despite her anxiety, she had to moderate a group of people meeting from the extranet. Craziness will ensue.
