I'll be gone until late Thursday or Early Friday.

Hello everyone! I did say I would be back, didn't I?

So long story short and trying to keep my ranting to a minimum if anyone is curious, I am not going to be pursuing my PhD. I passed one of my tests and came barely under on the other two, but even though I doubled my score from last time the department decided they didn't give a damn about that and won't be letting me continue because you get two chances and that's it.

I'm angry, I'm disappointed, I'm frustrated at a committee of people who think they are better than me deciding what I can and can not do based on an arbitrary test. From my experience writing theses of my own it is 90% determination and frankly from how they have treated me for the past two years the fact that I stuck around and gave it one more go shows I tried that. But I'll move on and I guess on the bright side there is more time for CDN now.

I'm gonna try and ease into things gently and get the voice back. This coming week is our career fairs which I have to hit rather aggressively now so I won't be particularly fast, but feel free to PM me now about plots, etc. It's good to be back with all of you! <3

Sorry we can't call you Doctor, but welcome back Jo.

Jo, it's good to see you again. I'm sorry about the circumstances - uncomfortably close to the final nail in the coffin of my military career, when I wasn't medically fit for a commission, although I was medically fit to be a pilot--but your attitude sounds in the right place. I ended up somewhere good, even if it wasn't where I envisioned.

As part of that, I'm going to be on the road again, gone until mid-February. I may not have internet access, so I will have to ask for a two week pause on my Rp threads beginning this Thursday January 31.

Well, my laptop's motherboard needs to be replaced, so I'm going to be out of commission till probably next weekend.

It's good to see you back, Jo, even if the circumstances could be better. Hopefully things will settle one way or another for you, and things turn out. Regardless, you're stronger for the experience!

Due to some financial issues that have escalated to an insane degree, I'm going to end up in a homeless shelter in the next few days, officially on my own and with only a duffel bag of clothes and one box of miscellaneous belongings to my name. Other options presented themselves, but I opted to stay in a shelter, because I feel that a bit of a rough spot builds character, which I feel that I need right now.

There's not a whole lot else to say, but rest assured, I'll be back as soon as I can manage, guys. I know you're going to be wishing me well, and I thank you for it.

I realised this a while ago, but I'm a terrible procrastinator. Not that it's all that important, seeing as I don't RP, but just in case anyone was wondering, I'm merely lurking. A combination of a reserved posting style and a job that is really irratic (it's sort-of an appreticeship where the oldest continually working theatre in Britain allows a group of young adults the chance to make their own theatre company) means not much posting.

I'm still here, and I might experiment with the alt character option, because, as much as I love the guys I'm making theatre with, it can be extremely stressful. It's great I can come here and think 'what would an alien jellyfish 175 years in the future say about this issue', even if I don't post it.
