Sundowner77 Caught between heaven and hell
On the long road home tonight
These threads always weird me out because I have always heard my characters' voices in my head as very distinctive and utterly unlike any people I know in the "Real world". I would hate having to cast my characters because they would never sound right to me, no matter who I picked as voice actor.

Trying to say stuff like "Battis has a deep voice; Raelon still sounds like a 15 year old; Vindi tends to make a little pause between each word; Sicaria's got a gravelly voice" doesn't really describe the richness of what's in my head.

But I've a rendezvous with Death
At midnight in some flaming town,
When Spring trips north again this year,
And I to my pledged word am true,
I shall not fail that rendezvous.

Way to make Juhani's and Raelon's prospective relationship awkward there :|

Juhani being the self-insert he once started out as, it's only natural for yours truly to voice him.

Reading any Terrorbyte posts always made me think of Newman.

I must say, I am extremely saddened by this.

For Mekan, I have a hard time thinking of any voice besides the Standard Batarian Voice Actor whose name escapes me. He's the one guy who does all the voices for almost every batarian throughout the entire Mass Effect series, and I can't think of a voice for Mekan besides that one.

Shamelessly plugging my blog. Click [here]. Currently on hiatus.

WavesHaveBroken This one is unsure what to place here. Greetings!

Given that two of my characters are a hanar and an elcor, I know how you feel, only more so ;)

For WavesHaveBroken, think "every other hanar", only more excitable and "breathless", which I'm not sure makes sense, but I'm sure everyone can imagine it well enough.

For SlowAndSteady... elcor monotone, of course.

I don't know about Bitterskin. I seem to have a voice for him in my head, but I'm hopeless at describing it, or identifying actual comparative examples.

Blue Bucket Find 'em,
fix 'em,
fuck 'em up.
Close Protection's obviously got a pretty broad Aussie accent, and I always imagined him sounding a bit like Tem Morrison (aka Jango Fett). Yeah, I know the dude's a kiwi, but something about his voice fits Dan's speech patterns pretty well.

LT (or Gunny, once upon a time), always reminded me of Stark Sands as Lt. Fick in Generation Kill.

And Blue Bucket is, of course, Christopher Walken in his role in The Dogs of War.

...in all seriousness, I've always imagined Daye as having a gravelly deep voice, but never really been able to place him to an actor.

Silver Future Raelon Pasharan

He sounds like a 15 year old, not he IS one. I'm sure you've met the people who are in their late 20s (or older) but still sound like teens. It's pitch/timbre.

If Vindi sounds like a kid, it's because of her syntax/emotional state/how she phrases things. She can switch on a dime and sound like an ice cold killer if the situation warrants. Raelon, no matter how serious he is, will always sound like a kid playing tough guy. ...Unless he's running some code for an artificial voice off the extranet, which is why he does that so often.

Doctor Love
Emily Mortimer.

In particular I like to think of her character from The Newsroom. The way she tries to be motivating and optimistic, or the other things.

TheDoctorIsIn Nulisan Praesid, ex-Armiger Legionnaire, at your service. I run FEMES.
Nulisan's voice is totally Omid Abtahi. For those who don't know the name, he did the voice-acting for Lugo in Spec Ops: The Line. I picture Lugo's voice when I type up stuff for Nulisan for some bizarre reason I can't explain, so the two match up in my head without question.
