You can gauge how trustworthy a candidate is by how much they try to cover up the kickbacks they take. If they don't even bother, they're not so bad. It's the sneaky ones you gotta look out for. Uh, no it doesn't. 'Common' is an incredibly context sensitive word, but generally just means mutual or shared among a given domain. I'm not the world's biggest fan of politicians, but making bullshit claims about some minor thing he said in some attempt to one up him just makes you look like an asshole. It's pretty clear that by common sentiment he means common to other politicians, that he wants to break convention. It's not saying 'hurr hurr fuck you poor people I actually don't give a shit'.

Whether or not that's true is, naturally, up for debate. He is still a politician, afterall. But at least have the decency to attack the facts of his policies, or lack thereof rather than being a prick with a poor grasp of contextual definition.

Aside from the Hegemony, which sadly we didn't know about until after the fact, literally the first major casualty of the war was 'our' government. The second was our homeworld. Same story for the turians. And who were the first into action? The first to talk about alliances and means of fighting back? Yup.

Thessia and the asari had months. Months. And you did nothing. Thessia ended up looking just as bad as two planets that had been fighting the Reapers for months, at massive cost.

But yeah, you're right about one thing: this isn't about that, this is about Citadel politics. So how about you take your own advice, and take your holier-than-thou, 'isn't the asari way sooo much better than all these other plebs' attitude and shove it up your ass.

You know what would be very bold Maverick? Putting indentured servantry back on the table.
