Gunmen Kill Aid Workers in Chicago Ambush

Gunmen killed three members of Jaeto’s Forgotten Daughters Foundation in Chicago (UNAS, Earth) today. The attack has left five others wounded, with one listed in critical condition at Mercy Hospital.

Oi Carvhen (12), Beeyar Cophta (13) and Neb Provich (19) were killed in ­­­Washington Park, a volatile region in the Chicago megalopolis. They were working on the reconstruction of a water treatment facility to send clean water to poorer citizens of the region.

The FDF (which has called the killing “cold-blooded”) began humanitarian efforts in the North Central UNAS shortly after the Reaper War’s end. It has been facing difficulty in the area since Sur’Kesh’s STG leak accused foreign aid workers of acting as “sleeper cells” for the agency. There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack.

This is completely and utterly disgusting. Three lives wasted all because of some idiotic racists with itchy trigger fingers.

If I'm not mistaken Salarians finish advanced studies around 16 years old, so yes two of them were children. Just so you know, if you catch those guys and don't know what to do with them, I have a list of jobs in mind that would give them a better appreciation of what the people they gunned down were doing.

If you define complete advanced studies as getting a permanent tenure (professorship) at an university then yes they complete it around sixteen, but they reach an adult age long before that point.

I hope the injured recover swiftly, and the dead will be in my prayers tonight.

I hope the people who did this feel really good about themselves. About how badass they are, ambushing defenceless aid workers just trying to help out a world which isn't even theirs.

I hope that they give the MPs who catch them a reason to open fire in self defence. Anything, no matter how flimsy. A sudden movement, a loud breath, anything.

And I hope the STG collectively go and fuck themselves for putting the best of their species in danger like this.

I'm telling you, the STG probably had nothing to do with it.

If they're completely innocent (hah) of it, then they should have damn well tried to clean the whole mess up. Every one of their own who've been killed in these attacks died because the STG's spin department refused to go to town on the leaks. Pretty crappy work for a group that's supposed to be looking out for salarianity, hey?

If the leaks are right (no smoke without fire), then it's entirely the STG's fault for not only using aid workers as spies but for not protecting that secret with every ounce of skill they've (supposedly) got. If they've been using NGOs as salarian shields, then not only are they as heartless and cold-blooded as nutjobs like these attackers make them out to be, but they're guilty of literally throwing innocent lives in front of the triggermen to protect their own precious secrets.

So, and pardon my language again, fuck the STG.

Just pull the FDF out of there, see how Chicagoans like to dwell in their STG-free filth and diarrhea due to lack of clean water. Beggars can't be choosers!

My thoughts and prayers with the family of the dead. No one should perish doing such good work. No one.

I hope that whomever is ultimately responsible be caught quickly, and suffer a slower death.
