Templar is looking for Support

Hello again everyone. Its a pleasure to see all the familiar faces that managed to survive the war. Around the end, things really didn't look good, but we're here and that is all that matters.

But the reason I'm posting is, well after the war, Muck and I decided to do our part in helping reconstruction by starting up a support group. Originally, we would just deliver supplies to people who needed them for the Alliance, but as we grew, we expanded our operation a bit, and along with aid for clean ups and restoring architecture, we're partnering the G. Red Cross set up and resupply medical aid.

Right now we're situated in the Local Cluster, but now that the relays and com buoys are back up, our little operation might grow and and help further restore the rest of the galaxy.

To that end, we're looking for more members, either volunteers or full time members, to join our cause. We're open to everyone, and we'll be sure to find a place for you where your talents can be put to good use. Failing that, we're always looking for donations, either in currency, or much needed supplies.

Also, another thing I'd like to draw your attention to is this. While Templar is largely apolitical, as it should be, there is one thing we've decided to help prod the Alliance into doing.

[This] petition is a request for SATAE to facilitate trade agreements with the Batarian Confederacy. Our reasoning being that by doing so, we can go a long way in completely eradicating the bilious antagonism between humanity and the batarians. Also, we stand to gain previously closed off resources, along with a potential ally in the Terminus Systems.

The batarians themselves stand to gain a great deal themselves, along with greater cultural osmosis after so many years of forced isolation by the Hegemony.

Ultimately, I believe a great deal of good can be achieved through this. If you agree, please sign the petition.

That, along with being the architects of humanity's understanding of banking, having gotten the idea to use credit to protect pilgrims by making them less appealing targets to bandits. At the height of their power very few were actually the classic image we imagine the Templars to be. For their time, they were also considerably less dogmatic the popular culture depicts them, and were willing to not only spare the lives of enemies who had surrendered to them, but formed contacts with them, allowing the trade of ideas to flourish, in subjects like architecture, politics and even theology.

Of course, when the Crusades were over this ultimately led to their downfall, their wealth making them a tempting target, and their willingness to trade and interact with "non believers" used as justification to destroy the whole organization.

Funny thing, my translator translated templar as "Morak'han", an ancient Batarian religious order intent on wiping out those who didn't believe in the Pillars. Imagine my surprise at this choice of word! Let's hope it doesn't do the same in other languages.

I find this rather amusing. See, one of the intended effects of this treaty is to instigate some cultural osmosis as the confederacy, formerly isolated, mingles with the other galactic cultures. The majority of whom frown rather severely on Slavery.

Let me raise a toast to inevitable, and with this trade agreement, further accelerated decline of the slave trade. Cheers.

I'm not sure how much we can provide, but I do believe my company may be able to provide some support to your work. At the very least we should be able to offer you some discounts on repairs, or we may have some excess supplies which we haven't already sold off. I can't be one-hundred percent sure until we can get our records straightened out.


I do agree with some of the others here as well, you might want to provide some clarity about the name of your organization.

Don't get me wrong, it's a really good idea. Like, I'm a serving SATAE engineer, but there're places out there that need help beyond the Alliance's reach, you know? I'm glad to see an NGO stepping up to the plate.
