SIU Agent Found Dead
Interstellar News Corp CARTEGENA - A body has been discovered in the orbit of Cartegena which preliminary sources have identified as Kadir Aldor, an alleged former SIU agent who had recently arrived on the station. C-Pat has not released the cause of death, but rumors persist that the several of the victim’s eyes had been cut out. He is believed to have been extensively tortured, and the body dumped out the airlock where it became caught in the station’s gravity - while this is far from the first attack of its kind on the station, it is one of the most violent in the past year. Natives to Cartegena say the victim was heavily involved with high ranking members of a local pirate band. Presslink News Aggregator: Collecting headlines from across the galaxy. We're talking about Cartegena. This shouldn't even make it to the headlines.
An old human saying says "Oh no not I, I will survive For as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive!" Very wise those humans were.<3 |

He must have been caught by the most patient pirates to have ever existed. On the Move. |

I do love the almost schizophrenic mentality of C-Spacers such as yourself with regards to anything outside the sphere of the Council. Man with possible ties to the defunct yet still (in many ways) largely intact secret police of the only recently dead Hegemony turns up tortured to death in the heart of one of the deadliest regions of known space, his body desecrated in the most profound way possible and your only response is a complaint that "this isn't even news". Well done. Celestial Palette wrote:Uh, guys?

He screwed something up, annoyed the wrong people, or the pirates simply didn't like SIU very much, which is very probable. I don't think anyone's going to find out why or who did this, so yeah, I think it's a good question why this made the headlines.

Because the implicit question is (obviously) what was a man who was, in all likelihood, a highly trained operative doing on the station to begin with. Additionally I don't think you quite grasp the importance of the blinding. It is, according to the majority of batarian cultural norms, one of the singularly worst things you can do to a man. So I somehow doubt that "simply didn't like SIU very much" was the reason considering that, even by the standards of Cartagena, this is fairly significant. And yes, I hate to spoil the surprise but just because you don't consider something to be worth your time doesn't mean the rest of the galaxy feels the same. A fact that I, personally, am indescribably grateful for. One must therefore be a fox to recognize traps, and a lion to frighten wolves. -Niccolo Machiavelli |

I find highly unlikely that anyone in the SIU would allow themselves to become prisoners or get killed in such a way.

Those who were once hunters are now the hunted, and this particular man ended up as prey. An inevitable fate that will befall the rest of Special Intervention Unit sooner or later.

Somewhat unlikely considering that there's virtually always going to be a demand for well trained, disciplined soldiers with heads full of information plus extensive experience in covert and paramilitary operations. I am quite aware what blinding means to a batarian. That was an understatement, SIU probably isn't exactly the most loved organization amongst pirates. This seems like sending a message: don't mess with us because we're such bad dudes we can do this to a man. Also, I'm not saying this isn't worth my time. I'm just surprised it has gotten this much attention to be featured in a headline. Additionally I don't think you quite grasp the importance of the blinding.
