There is something brewing beneath the truce of the Confederacy. Batarians don’t go down without a fight - and for the outcasted, the heros, and the outliers, tensions that existed long before the Reaper War are now reaching a boiling point. Events that once seemed disconnected are now woven together, interlaced into a brutal game of politics, intrigue, and the right of succession for what was once one of the most influential groups in the Terminus. And you, the player, have an chance to direct where fate goes - who lives, who dies, and who the true heir is.
There is no chain without links. ------ Dramatics aside, this is an open-to-anyone-interested organic roleplaying game. This means no dice and no stats - characters sink or swim based entirely on their own abilities to talk, infiltrate, and fight their way through missions, though characters cannot die without specific permission from the player. This is a slow-building plot - and whether or not you’ve realized it, the tension’s already begun to form on the boards. We fully expect it to take months of real-life time to reach the finale, so don’t expect a quick finish. However, you’re also not expected to sit on your character while waiting - get up to other things when nothing’s happening or you don’t have to be involved. The stakes aren’t galaxy-ending - this is a war of Confederacy proxies, hidden in the shadows of the Terminus and C-Space alike. Your character’s choices, however, are going to have a big effect on what happens at endgame. Who lives, who dies - that’s up to you, and we guarantee it’s an adventure you’ll enjoy. It’s a many-sided battle of wits and combat prowess, so make your choices wisely. Interested, questions? Let us know here. Please include character’s name, occupation, race, and what faction you’d like to side with (see OOC notes). Contact Abad via PMs or IRC, if necessary.

Lorek - Led by Melek Ib-bar and Goronak Ilorik, the Lorek Crimson Chains consist primarily of former SIU agents and associates. In many ways they are one of the largest surviving elements of the former Hegemony, but in the aftermath of the Reaper War they have become intimately connected with the government of Lorek. They primarily provide bodyguard, honour guards, and other security services for corporations, diplomats, businessmen, and honored guests, and are among the best-trained soldiers left in the Confederacy. Despite this, their true motivations remain veiled in mystery, and rumors of their connection and involvement with the alleged ‘deep state’ are hard to deny given their makeup.
Chresk - Led by Alto Ord’Narak, the Chresk Crimson Chains are the smallest faction of survivors, and use hidden lab facilities and stockpiles to provide banned weapons and armaments to whoever can afford them. Several of the Na’Hesit governments in the Kite’s Nest owe their survival to weapons provided by this group, who have since leveraged this into continued technological advantages. Along with their proven connections to the Na’Hesit, the Chresk Chains are alleged to have connections to the Erszbat Cabal and a number of major mercenary groups. Cartagena - While the Lorek faction of the Chains approaches legitimacy, the Cartagena faction, led by Ashtor Sam’klar and Joral nabOrcas, has taken the opposite means to survival. Leveraging their superior arms and equipment into a strong position among the gangs of Cartagena, this faction has expanded rapidly to include numerous smaller gangs, batarian or otherwise. By far the most obviously ambitious remnant, the Cartagenans have extensive connections with the various clans of the Camalan Grusto and this gives them a reach which extends well beyond the station itself. The Ascendacy - Khar’shan is the heart of the batarian people, and the new government of the motherworld intends to keep it that way. The Crimson Chains have gone beyond mere breaking of the Pillars to threaten a civil war at a time when the very souls of the batarian race hang in the balance, and the Ascendancy has made their move long before that happens. While their involvement remains under veils of secrecy for now, they have no intention of allowing the Confederacy to shatter before it has fully mended. Order must be maintained, all must know their place, and the Confederacy must be permitted to thrive under the guiding hand of Khaljah. |

Oh, I have no idea how this could work, especially since I have him secluded in training for the time being, but I'd love to participate.
Name: Vohkaidin Knox Occupation: Alliance Soldier, as of yet in training. Race: Human Faction: After even MORE consideration (I'm finicky, and uncertain what the best possible path is, if there even is one) I'm just an outsider who doesn't like any of the factions, but could be used to aid or hinder them, based on where he is and what he perceives. But if I have to choose a faction, finding himself in an awkward alliance with Chresk might be interesting. If nothing else, because their seems to be a greater ratio for the other factions. He who is brave is free. |

A couple of things to note:
We're going to make every effort to incorporate everybody who's interested, but do be aware that in some cases it may prove difficult. Strictly Alliance-based characters in particular might be hard to work into the core storyline, but that's not a bad thing - there will be plenty to do and something for everyone. It just might be on the periphery, rather than the center, which is appropriate given the locations involved. Don't worry about the human/batarian ratio or anything of that sort. Every faction has a reason to use outsiders for some of the dirty work: Lorek doesn't have quite the same interplanetary reach as the others and outsiders are a quick way to fix that. Cartagena is already recruiting non-batarians into their faction. The Ascendancy doesn't want to be seen turning batarians against each other. Chresk is the smallest and may need the help more than anyone. It will work just fine. None of the factions is strongly tied to the Ub'Hesit - the Chains are still former slavers, even if it's no longer their core business. Lorek and Chresk have both abandoned it due to their situations, but Cartagena is still involved on a small scale, while the Ascendancy is highly traditionalist. |

Changed my allegiance to Chresk since they're the only powerful Na’Hesit group on Erszbat.
