Re: Subject Lines Woman, I Had To Rescue This From My Trashcan

Ahem.

Economy's still relatively shit (don't let Irune tell you otherwise it is really really shit) but there are a few growth sectors, defense industries are gearing up for what looks like a minor boom in the Nimbus Cluster and the more industrial heavy corps operating in the Shrike Abyssal (mining, construction, terraforming, hydroponics, that sort of thing) have been doing well for themselves now that the region's started to get itself sorted out.

But, more importantly, your question?

Yes, yes I have heard of it. As operations go it's fairly intensive, I'm sure your doctors have talked you through it all and you've seen the papers and brochures and whatnot, but you did ask for my perspective so:

The Weyrek-T'Oles Procedure involves a battery of geneaugments coupled with a system of cybernetic implants. Functionally, you're getting a new spine, the organic components of the structure are actually generated from your biological templates. It's your bone, your cartilage, your nerves, etc overlaid with the augmentations. These, for the most part, are relatively straightforward: countermeasures against degradation, the easing of integration with the rest of your skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems, time delayed packages for post-op regen. The most notable are the weaves that help protect the cord (which is basically what it sounds like), the terminal anchors (which...well anchor the whole affair to the rest of your spine)and the cadence strands woven into the cord itself.

To explain a bit about the last: they're composed mainly of modified neurons with a sensitivity to implant specific electrochemicals chained to a nanomesh scaffold with biorhythmic nodes at every vertebrae. Essentially they help to network implants across your body while boosting overall unit efficiency.

To reduce all this to a point that pertains to your actual question: it's a reliable, tested, comprehensive and safe process. The two main issues are duration and recovery. It is understandably a long and involved thing both on the table and off but in all frankness; if they're recommending this your doctors are expecting long recovery times for related issues already.

In essence it's very much a long term sort of investment: you'll be on medical leave for a while and physical therapy will be every shade of hell, but

and I do stress this but

the end result is a perfectly healthy spine adapted for an augmented body.

Of course this isn't the only possible method of achieving this goal but it's definitely the most relevant to your current situation.

Hope this helped and best wishes if you go through with it.

Nik

M'lady
Private Message to Mr_Sandman Okay I think I've got the perfect one now.

Its like living in your childhood home or upgrading to a deluxe penthouse apartment. Both fill the same needs but one is going to be shabbier and fall apart easier than the other, and the penthouse has fancier features and looks nicer and is very, very expensive!

Sorry, this has been bugging me for the past day. So I'm just writing up this message to get it off my chest, and I'm not even going to send wait

Ms. T'Rinette,

This is, without a doubt, one of the nicest random messages I've received on the site thus far. Which, admittedly, is a bit of a low bar but I'll take my pleasant surprises where I can find them.

And yes, I think that works perfectly as well.

To be frank it was annoying me too.

Sincerely,

Re: I was in a hurry okay I'm not getting paid enough for this

Yeah, I got talked through the whole thing and Kaseka seems to understand and be content with the risks and whatnot, so...But it is reassuring for you to say that, to be honest. I never really thought I'd in this position, you know? And you know a bit about cybernetics, so yeah.

I am worried about the recovery times. I won't go into details, but things have been fucked up here ever since that clusterfuck with Tritt and the protesters, so I am a little concerned that if I leave I'll come back to find the base on fire or something.

But...I'm sick of being in pain, of using this cane and having to rely on other people so much. I know Kaseka doesn't mind, but I do, and between the hospital, me and the kids, she's flat out. And it might be easier to you know, be the authority figure the First Sergeant needs to be if I don't have to limp everywhere. And you're right, I keep suffering complications and what they've put in so far simply isn't working completely.

Therapy is always a bitch, but I dunno, it's easier to get through when you can look into the future and know what the prize at the end is going to be.

How've you been anyway?

Thanks,
Nat.

Mind a visit?

Hey..the band is going to be in Constant in a couple weeks - last stop before the tour ends. I've been in Montreal handling some family issues, but I'll be there for the last show, at least. Was wondering if you would mind me stopping by to see my goddaughters? I won't be there too long - have to come back to the Citadel, because of the auction on the artwork and holography, but I haven't seen them in ages and I've kinda missed them.

Let me know soon, alright?

Hey Halley. Yeah, of course I don't mind. You're always welcome. I'm sure Hope would love to see you and if Shiori acts shy at first, it's a mask-she's a right little terror these days. I'm sure Kaseka would like to see you as well.

Hope everything's okay and good luck with the auction.

Re: Corporaaaaaaate~

I understand you, only thing I'll say vis-a-vis you're assorted worries is that no really Nat, things'll be fine. And while you are more than welcome to stress a bit to keep yourself sane (because, let's face it, if you didn't I'm reasonable certain you'd explode) but there's no reason to let these kinds of things hang over you like some mystic piece of cutlery.

Just...remember to relax a bit. A terrifying prospect I know, but you and your spine are in good hands and I daresay your family is as well for the time being though, honestly, I can't speak for the base itself.

But I'm sure any fire damage will buff right out.

As for me? Boring things mainly, we've finally got that glut of veterans dealt mostly dealt with and put to good use and the basically all of our R-War volunteers standardized so

on the plus side

I'm not trying to keep all of our divisions in the air like the world's worst juggler. An image which I'm sure you're finding very amusing.

My name is Paul Duffy, I am an associate of Sarah Thompson. I do believe we met at the Charity dinner last week?
Anyway, Sarah told me about the scuffle that had taken place at your offices and I'd like to schedule an interview and write up an article regarding your charity's recent struggles with criminal organizations. Sarah would also like for me to bring over an OSD I own for your hanar associate. What time is good for you? Please respond to me as soon as you are able.

Good morning, Ms Caenis,

I apologise for the perfunctory nature of this message - aligning Department clearance protocols with Embassy procedures can result in quite formal and, dare I say, clunky language.

I am returning your message on file marker 536353-325436-gtdfrt, regarding possible unsecured communication from a Class Three listed individual (to wit, Nassa D'Veyra).

The Department would like to commend you for your vigilance in both observing and relaying this information. Thanks to you, Ms Caenis, Department spiders have been able to trace the individual's extranet activity and rough location.

My Director would like to ask you to please continue to monitor the individuals activities in this forum within reasonable means. To this end, I have been authorised to:

1) inform you that Nassa D'Veyra is considered a potential asset by elements of High Command;
2) ask for your opinion on her suitability for recruitment, given your observation of the individual; and
3) offer to grant you personal access to Nassa D'Veyra's file to assist in this purpose.

It goes without saying that the contents of this message are strictly confidential.

If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Aurelia Meris

Private message to user:Citadel Free Press Greetings Mr Duffy,

I remember you very well, I hope you had a nice evening despite the complications that transpired.
Honestly I've been on the fence about it. On one hand I wouldn't want to scare away people from donating, them thinking that our charity is doomed, or give fuel to fear-mongers. But I think it would be for the best to tell people how desperate the gangers are to prevent the kids from getting help.
So yes I'll do it gladly. Does Friday work for you?

Best regards,

Greetings, Miss Meris

I am continuously observing the mentioned boards. I may point out what a chore it can be at times but we all have to sacrifice ourselves and put up with extranet varrenshit of epic proportions.

I acknowledge the status of the subject and will file all observations accordingly.

There has been unexpected activity.
While the subject is claiming her status as Major of the Eclipse in her tagline, she is not advertising them. In fact there has been a recruitment ad for a freelancer pirate operation posted by the individual:
[attached is a logfile]

This is unusual procedures. There is a distinct possibility that her connections to Eclipse are disturbed. Of course, for better judgment of my observations I would like to obtain level 1 profile access. If nothing else then just to make sure I miss nothing essential or give false alarms. Please forward the keys to my level 1 PM account.

Kind regards,

Private message to Sundowner77Hey Sica, I trust that chit I gave you isn't necessary anymore? I certainly hope so since I'm up to my neck in debt to Hierarchy with zero credits to my name, and going to prison to pay it off with tax evasion on the side.

Not exactly same as your train-bombing and suicide mission sentence. I'll just go do some hard labour with penal battalions until I've got enough paid off. Maybe if I lick enough right boots or "boots" they'll shave off days off the sentence.

Tell Lucia Aira said hi. She also wanted to know if you're going to teach her to handle guns.

I still stink at this tech stuff...Tell me the transfer went through. You should have the amount of the chit enclosed, plus interest. Don't even argue with me about the interest. I'm better with a gun than you.

Thanks again for the loan.

Just in case they're reading your mail, best you don't know where I am, what I'm doing. But if I cross paths with Aira in the future, absolutely I'll give her a few tips.
