WildeFlower Yes, these are turian tattoos.
One of my boyfriend's mothers died in the war. And as Dad mentioned, I lost my brother.

Also, Father Kevin sacrificed himself to save a lot of people.

There are two important secrets to life.

First Secret: Never share everything you know.
Link Link Quote

LadyJo Location: Presidium, Citadel
My brother, Tarrus Sethtak was killed in the Cerberus raid on the Citadel. He'd sent his wife and three children to Sanctuary for safe-keeping and...

Yeah I guess it's no stretch to know they died too. Don't even know how but I hope it was quick.

I guess technically I don't know of anyone I've lost due to Reaper action but Cerberus maybe wouldn't have gone spirits-damned insane if they hadn't been a threat.

Smiffy
I never heard from or found my Parents, as far as I know they were on Terra Nova when all the bad stuff happened. I haven't heard back from my Brother, and I only really ever managed to trace his movements in the war as far as Illium (Less than a month in). I'd like to think it could go either way for any of them, but...

...I suppose that its somewhat amusing, in a morbid sort of way, that the only confirmed survivor in my close family was an old man who was on Earth when the Reapers hit.

Beyond that, theres a list of assorted friends way too long to put here that I can confirm are dead, and a lot more who were in the arse end of nowhere when the relays went offline; presumed dead.

Custodian
Too many. Close to seventy of those following me are gone and either confirmed dead, MIA or worse.
Squad Arshell - MIA, no contact after departing from Illium.
Squad Nakmor - Overrun trying to hold extraction site on Tarlas' southern colonies.
Squad Grey - Shot down by Destroyer.
Squad Jul - Killed trying to recover wounded from Squad Vortis.
Lieutenant David Matheson, Midshipmen Hark, Vree, Black, Arrian - Killed by Oculus collision.
Sub-Lieutenant Ilrios - Killed activating overrides to a malfunctioning blast door as his section was breached.

Too many to fully list. We're still carving their names into the hanger wall.

Eightball At times you must be remembering that adversity is little more than a stack overflow error in the webzone that is fortune, sonideros, and push through to the data spike of happiness tomorrow.
Friends, last year was the greatest disasterpiece of our times.

My miniature brother Aleksey on Mars is still unaccountable due to having been on-planet when it was assailed by space crabs. He was a genius, my miniature brother. :( He was going to be a particle physicist and a total VIP. I am thinking this year's family reunion will be consisting entirely of me and a whole thing of red sand.

My esteemed partner of business had most of her relatives confined to the greater Martian area as well, being as we grew up together. So yeah, we are in the same dirigible there.

It would also be hell of lax to not mention many patrons and friends, blue vajin or otherwise, who were lost to alien invasions on the glorious partying world of Illium. Not just the foremost wave either, but the most numerous triggermen (I am not sure if there is gender-specific asari version of 'triggermen') who shot up the robot zombies and space crabs so that we could continue on our planetary quest to get through the lunch rush of life. Do not be making any bones of it, sonideros, they were heroic types, and will drink free in the afterworld.

Also our erstwhile holovision colleague Reave was vaporized by a space crab, but then he showed up again about three months ago so I am thinking perhaps he should not have memorial entries due to being resurrected.

Capice Shepard Lives!
I'm sorry to hear about Martello.

I lost my hearth or adoptive or second mother, Sanjin Challos-Bar, in the Cerberus attack on the Citadel. She was an air traffic controller, and she stayed at her post until the end. I told her to get off the Citadel. But her job...She wasn't a fighter but she was brave. She had a husband and a biological daugher who both survived the war. And me.

...
...
...As annoyed as I am that they are using a genuine memorial thread as viral marketing for their ridiculous HV show....woohoo! Reave's coming back.

Shame about Marty. He was a friend of mine. Or at least an acquaintance on good terms. I liked him, at any rate.

Ahh, the good old days when the galaxy didn't get ravaged by fucking synthetic godsquid.

At any rate, I've been sniffing around and been looking for an old friend. But, I haven't seen hide or hair of him. So I'm putting up this one.

Nulisan Praesid. Last seen during combat on Earth, according to Hierarchy records.

Dominance To reign from obscurity has long since ceased to be entertaining.
Um, there were the refugees living in those hotels I bought and re-purposed. The biggest piece of those buildings left is probably about the size of my torso. I'm still trying to find the rosters and compare them to the list of losses. I didn't know any of them personally, but for some reason I don't think I'm ever going to get over that.

To manipulate people from the smallest threads of their genetic code to the entire fabric of their place in the universe will not suffer the same fate.

Nat
My sister was killed during the invasion of Earth. My brother died during the occupation of the Citadel. My mother's still listed as missing, presumed dead, but I'm not holding out hope.

Lieutenant Chris Matthias. And the rest of my unit who didn't make it after our battalion was overrun and the carrier went down. Too many to list.

Lost a lot of troops to Reapers, some good friends, quite a bit of family.

And, well, Vedevix, I guess. But I don't think a relationship mostly based around attempted murder and trying to stop him from enslaving people really counts.

Still, don't think anyone else is going to mourn the old monster.

SteelUnifier Die for the Cause
I'm not gonna spout off a bunch of names that probably don't mean anything to anyone else here. My roommate burnt up over Palaven. Macedyn is radioactive, that's all that really needs to be said about what I've lost.

Why though? Do their names not deserve to be remembered?

Because there are better places and better ways to honour their memories than airing out their identities to people I will never meet.

Ana'Therion vas Nedas
Besides everybody that died when the original Nos Astra went under, the Fighting Talxu division. I have no idea what their official name was, I'm sorry. They pulled a suicide run to distract the Reapers in orbit so that the rest of the fleet could get the nukes primed. They pretty much saved the planet, in the long run.

Supposedly they're going to get a holiday named after them. Somehow it's not really enough, but I'm not sure what would be.

Fuckin' A. Fighting Talxu saved the planet, least they deserve is a statue.

I Meant To Do That Beep?
Hell of a first post, but I'll try.

To Demix Hakkados. For your patience, and your sacrifice.

To Stevens... you know, I never learned your first name. You were always Stevens, and you always made us laugh. I could use some of that now.

To the Akuda Volunteers... I never even knew half of you, but because you were there, some of us are still here.

To Amdis "Liquid_Dreamer" Arterius. You gave me wings and taught me to fly, and you died as you lived, dancing in the air.

To my mentor, wherever you may be, for showing me the ropes most don't even know exist.

To Rana, Asani, Gran and all the others, stupid casualties of a stupid war.

To Damien Walker, and Caleb, and Malcolm Irale, and Siri, and all the others who didn't make it. I wish I could have met you all in better times. Maybe except You Bastard. Still miss you, but wouldn't want to meet you.

Finally, and if you told me two years ago I'd be saying this, I'd call you crazy, to 1108-Razon, and 3141-Dheir, and 1212-Sweeper, and 2618-Rhtai. I know you guys aren't really gone, but I still miss you. It's empty around here without you.

...can't believe it's been a year already.

Beep.
