In our ongoing effort to make CDN as sexy as possible we're redoing the dedicated tvtropes page. The idea is to show all the cool characters and stories we created in the old and new forum. In this thread we would propose stuff and log what is already done.
To find content we should use the storyline page (please fill it if you didn't :D). What I suggest as first order of business is to separate both the characters lists and the main page into two categories : Current characters, retired characters. Also I think a good ground rule would be not to do or own tropes, what do you think? Slaves4Us is here to help you! Contact us with your need, and we will fulfill them in no time! I like the idea of dividing up the character pages into retired and current, and then following the current sectioning that it's got going on now! Mentioning who plays who might be useful too, though definitely not necessary.
Some way of summarizing old plotlines could be useful, though it definitely wouldn't replace the Retrospectives page of course. |

Ok here is the first character I troped. I'm posting it here for now, so people (chieftly the player, DerangedNasat) can tell me if I got something wrong, or have other tropes ideas.
WavesHaveBroken (Laykalar/Grace Of The Boundless Current)
A young and over-enthusiastic hanar set out to discover the galaxy and meet its inhabitant. Everything is source of awe to him, and he will try to find meaning in the most minute thing. He’s also completely adorable. Recently joined the Citadel-based charity Leaving the Duct and perform as an administrative assistant/planner and sometimes teacher to the duct rats. Wide-eyed idealist : For Laykalar, EVERYTHING has a deep profound meaning, EVERYONE is a brilliant mind to commune with. Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness : Even for a hanar, Laykalar uses long, convulted sentences to express himself all the time. Adorkable : It’s hard not to read reality-blind Laykalar ‘s posts without wanting to give him a big hug! Politeness judo : When trying to convince a politician to come to a charity dinner, Laykalar ends up talking to his staff. They try to get him to leave the conversation, but being too polite he can’t do that (or even take the hint). Hilarity ensues as they grow desperate to get rid of him, and he thinks they’re being extra cooperative. Constantly Curious : His defining trait. Fortunately he’s so nice and polite that people don’t mind too much. Also a little trick I found to collect tropes : on google type site:tvtropes.org and a defining aspect of the character. You'll have good chance to see the related tropes. For example I typed curiosity and got Constantly Curious. Slaves4Us is here to help you! One thing I kind of think would be nice is to have a section regarding the various factions and governments. Especially since some like SATAE and the Confederacy are noticeably different from canon, along with providing a little more background to the other groups, Terminus states, PMC's, etc.

Yeah, I could see this. We could add an opening paragraph for every faction explaining its goals, motives, and whether or not it is active anymore (for the older groups still on the character page) |

Great :) Something else that will need to be done, after the page is up to date anyway, is to go on a few pages and place references to the site on them. After all, even if the page is super awesome it won't mean much if it is difficult or impossible to find. |

It usually is, which is why I really think it's better to do someone else's character. Seriously you can tell when somebody did his own tropes. And not always in a good way. RTB : I think the traverse dans Rannoch should be counted as Terminus. Do we even have people in the traverse?
