Capice Shepard Lives!
I was in the hospital.

Then I was in the hospital some more.

Then I came back to the Citadel and started school, and for the first time, what I want to do next seems really, really far away. It's a weird feeling.

Been shipped over to Omega for 're-training and familiarisation' courses with all the new tech that came out during (and after) the war. Fucking drones, I tell you. Fucking REMFs. Tides.

Silelam running a club now, periwinkle paradise.

Tides, that's you? I heard some good things 'bout it from a few of the newbies. Not my sort of place, from the sounds of it, but keep up the good work and all that.

I'm still working for the Alliance - Biotic Relations, one of the few departments not involved in governing Earth. I'm pretty much middle-management now, with my own broom cupboard office and everything, dealing with all the low-level crap so the higher-ups aren't bothered by it.
At least I get to delegate stuff now, eh?

Miralatriarchmy six-month-old granddaughter (who has quite the pair of lungs, let me tell you)
And here's the other new thing. My beautiful baby girl, who you can probably hear screaming from two wards away. Apparently asari children don't start sleeping through the night until they're nine months old.

As for Zelana, her club pretty much survived the technozombie attacks and she's joined forces with a turian fella whose name I can't pronounce to help get it going again. She's still in charge, she just has a deputy now. Or something.

Well I was trapped on Earth with the remains of my unit when the relays went down. With no way to get in contact with the rest of AEGIS I ended up working with some of the other unaligned mercs to help secure Earth and the Citadel.
Tough work, but it needed to be done.

Now with the relays reopening I finally managed to get back to the Terminus by signing up as a transport guard. Can't wait to see everyone in AEGIS again. Earth was nice, but my heart's in the Terminus!

Goddess, the board really is back - I thought Ana was just trying to see if I'd buy it. Can never tell when she'll decide I need to be kept on my toes <3.

Anyway, as she said we're still here on Illium, and I'm a CEO. Which is crazy, I know, but we didn't plan it, it just turned out that way. Most of you have probably heard how volatile the economy's been here - overall decent considering, but a lot of erratic peaks and troughs along the way. One of the companies that looked like it was going to go under (after over-extending on the Vis Marinis project, before it got cancelled) was Envirometrics, who make and maintain (along with various other environmental control technologies) quarian clean-rooms, including the one Ana uses. There weren't any other companies who really had the expertise and the interest in making top-line systems (be a different story if it was one of the planet's majority species who needed 'em, of course, damn it), and after everything we've been through we are not making do with a generic clean-tech setup, so... well, we kind of bought the company. Bailed out, rather - not that we had that kind of money just lying around, but the credits I'd put into war bonds have that reinvestment bonus clause, which (with a bit of arguing and legal wrangling - Skylar helped) applied in this case, so we wound up with enough to keep enough of the company afloat enough that we're still making clean-rooms, and somehow it wound up that I'm in charge.

Bit confused on that score, but honestly, I've seen plenty of CEOs and what constitutes their job - some are great, but enough others are clueless that I figure if I'm here I might as well make a go of it; can't say I can't handle the promotions side of it, that's for sure (as Eafina said - with affection, for anyone who doesn't know her or me and might misinterpret the joke hearing it second-hand - when it comes to being a publicity whore, I have considerable natural advantages). Ana, despite her assessment of what she does, is an enormous help as an administrator - basically, keeping the company running, while I flit about here and there getting everyone's attention. We didn't plan to go into business together (although having adjoining offices is pretty nifty, gotta say), but as she said, once the threat of giant murderbots was gone, the planet suddenly started getting all elitist again, and being great at your job suddenly wasn't the only thing that mattered. (Health Directorate tried to justify asking her to accept indenturement as a condition of retaining her position with them by saying it was to ensure commitment - can you believe that? Jerks.) So now here we both are, making ends meet. Not exactly rolling in credits, but surviving, and we've got access to the best clean-tech Illium has to offer.

(In case anyone's curious, yes, I am still an escort - part-time, obviously, but since Ana's got a handle on the administrative side of things (and is a lot better at it than I would be anyway) I can afford to juggle CEO work and clients. I do feel a little guilty calling myself 'CEO' when I'm really more of a part-time figurehead, but the marketing advisors we talked to indicated - accurately, by all accounts - that 'CEO Daia T'Nara, professional escort' actually is a benefit to the company, insofar as it gets people's attention, makes us stand out from the crowd. Hey, whatever keeps us swimming.)

OutsideTheWall Bluh.
Hello matriarch.

I was in a coma for six months because of various heavy war injuries and infections resulting from them (burns mostly), in physical and mental therapy for five because of the resulting muscle atrophy and shock from all sorts of bullshit, and now I've decided "Hey, I need to not be around those Geth on Rannoch or I might go fucking insane, so Little Rannoch sounds nice."

No Geth at least. Fucking cyclopian murderbots.

Geth. Nope.

Pilotlight Telos Mallenis. Proud Captain for the Citadel Exploration Fleet. Going further than anyone, for the good of everyone.
Well...

Spent the first couple of weeks after the end of the War in intensive care in Cartagena, Colombia.
Then hanged around on Earth till the relay back to Palaven was opened.
When I, and the surviving execs of Gladus Inc. got back to Palaven from salarian space, we negotiated a nationalization agreement with the turian government, which went by quite smoothly.

A few days ago, I returned to Sol from Palaven aboard the Decembrium -former flagship of the Gladus fleet- and set up an HQ in Earth's orbit.

Now I am the head of Gladus Inc. But this is nothing like the company that my parents created and used to own. Gladus is something much different. Now that its in mine and the Hierarchy's hands, the sole purpose of the company will be to gather every possible resource and credit for the Hierarchy's recovery efforts!

Yeah... Never expected this to happen tbh.

And My Fornax Faaaaaaaabulous!
Hello everyone!

So much has happened in the past year! Half of the people I know are dead, ha ha. Ha. Yep. Um, anyways, I was out of work for a while after the uh... events, but now I'm writing romance novels again and doing pretty alright! It's a nice change from the old office.

I still miss it, though.

Gosh. Well, that will bring a drell down. Ha. I am glad to see that so many of you are having successful and productive lives. :)

Miralatriarch Just because I'm likely far older than you doesn't mean I know better.
EpsilonUm...Hi Mirala. Glad to see you survived the war. Sorry for not visiting you before running off to Tuchanka.
Kirse, you're safe! I'd wondered (and worried) about what had happened to you!
It's wonderful to hear from you, and I'm glad to know you're doing all right.

Scientific PursuitsNos Astra Uni contacted me, asking if I wanted tenure there - even though I've only had my doctorate for 108 years!
Really? I'd heard various institutions had been headhunting, but... wow, Linnie. Professor at your age - half the age I was - is near-unprecedented for our race. You must have impressed someone!

And really, how hard is it to pronounce "Kyerxreczjax"?

Figulus I miss riding a desk.
Trying to pretend that everything is back to business as usual. It's not really working. All the old paranoid habits I developed after the Blitz are back, along with some new ones. Seems those nights where you sleep the whole way through are few and far between. I thought about going back home, but C-Sec is severely undermanned at the moment, and there's a mountain of work that needs to be done.

I've most of my time recovering old tech and destroyed power lines, trying to find ways to restore destroyed plants and get clean water to the poorer sections of [REDACTED], Spain. You'd think that after a year of this we'd be done by now, but I suppose when you're standing on Ground Zero for a galactic invasion, you should be glad there's anything left at all.

Oh right, if there's some sort of redaction up there, it's because we've had everything from rocks to live ammunition thrown in our general direction and apparently masking outbound communication helps prevent being killed in an explosion.

You'd almost think people want to drink the same water they shit out.
